Joseph Maurice Abou Khalil is a self-taught Lebanese watercolor and acrylic artist, recently based in Paris. He excels in the use of color arrangement and composition. He has been drawing ever since he could hold a pencil — and has not put it down since.

A lover of colors, he fervently pursues new ways to group them in conversation with one another, leaving one-of-a-kind constellations in his wake. He explores unlimited chromatic and tonal scales; his palette is innovative, vibrant and complex. He expertly blends light and shades to create depths and contrasts in his paintings.

The artist showcases an extensive mastery of color theory, innate sense of rhythm, and compositional elements to each of his pieces. His art is a visual poetry bursting forth with relentless energetic expression. He has developed his own visual vocabulary along with an inimitable style.

With utmost proficiency, he invites us to view the world as a magical, dynamic, and invigorating panorama. Through his work, we experience our universe with a new expansive and compelling perspective.

Joseph Maurice Abou Khalil est un artiste libanais autodidacte spécialisé en peinture aquarelle et acrylique, récemment installé à Paris. Il excelle dans l’utilisation de l’arrangement des couleurs et de la composition. Il dessine depuis qu’il sait tenir un crayon et ne l’a jamais lâché depuis. Après une longue et fructueuse carrière internationale, principalement dans la production d’illustrations et de perspectives architecturales, le dessin, le croquis et la conception de bijoux, il se consacre aujourd’hui à la peinture et se spécialise dans la réalisation d’aquarelles de paysages étonnants, explorant la nature et sa lumière ; capturant ainsi des moments fugaces de la vie de tous les jours. Amoureux des couleurs, il recherche avec ferveur de nouvelles façons de les faire dialoguer entre elles. Il explore surtout des gammes chromatiques et tonales illimitées ; faisant de sa palette une palette innovante, vibrante et complexe. Il mélange habilement la lumière et les ombres pour créer des profondeurs et des contrastes dans ses peintures. L’artiste fait preuve d’une grande maîtrise de la théorie des couleurs, d’un sens inné du rythme et d’éléments de composition dans chacune de ses œuvres. Son art est une poésie visuelle débordant d’une expression énergique et incessante. Il a développé son propre vocabulaire visuel ainsi qu’un style propre à lui. Avec une grande maîtrise, il nous invite à voir le monde comme un panorama magique, dynamique et vivifiant. Grâce à son travail, nous observons notre univers avec une nouvelle perspective, expansive et fascinante.

Throughout my career, I’ve been obsessed with the intrinsic beauty of shades, light and colors. I like conveying everyday reality into emotions and dreamy imageries and capturing the very essence of each subject.
